Some believed on him as such whom John Baptist had spoken him to be; others possibly believed on him in the sense mentioned 1 Thessalonians 2:23; not to the saving of their souls, but as one sent of God, a great Prophet, no ordinary man. The rage of men shall not hinder the progress of the gospel.
