For some with conscience, &c.— For there are some, who with notions still remaining that the idol may have some efficacy upon the victim, eat of it as a real victim, and their conscience, &c. Heylin. Dr. Doddridge reads it, But some do, even until now, with consciousness of the idol, eat the things as sacrificed to the idol; and so their conscience, &c.

7 Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
