1 Samuel 24:16 - Coke's Commentary on the Holy Bible

Bible Comments

Saul lifted up his voice, and wept— Saul himself, with all his malice, could not withstand this instance of David's generosity. He melted, and sunk under it; and instead of defaming it, or lessening the merit of it with an unrelenting heart, he lift up his voice and wept, and with tears acknowledged David's innocence and his own guilt, and even prayed God to reward him, whom, but the moment before, he was pursuing to destruction.

1 Samuel 24:16
