Acts 19:15 - Coke's Commentary on the Holy Bible

Bible Comments

And the evil spirit answered— Not to insist on the demonstration arising from thepresent history, that this demoniac was not merely a lunatic, we may observe that the evil spirit, under whose operation this man was, seems either to have been compelled by a superior power to bear an unwilling testimony to Jesus, or craftily to have intended it, to bring St. Paul under a suspicion, as acting in confederacy with himself; and if the latter of these was the case, God, as in other instances, over-ruled this artifice of Satan to the destruction of his own cause and kingdom.

Acts 19:15
