Who am less than the least— The Apostle here makes a new word, which, as grammarians would speak, is the comparative degree of the superlative,— ελαχιστοτερω, which no translation can fully equal, or very happily express. No doubt he refers to what he had been formerly, when he persecuted the church of God. The unsearchable riches of Christ, means that abundant treasure of mercy, grace, and favour, laid up in Jesus Christ, not only for the Jews, but for the whole heathen world, even for all of them who would believe; which was beyond the reach of human sagacity to discover, and could be known only by revelation.
