Psalms 19:5 - Coke's Commentary on the Holy Bible

Bible Comments

Rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race— This is another comparison taken from the vehemence and force with which a warrior runs toward his enemy; and is not, as some expositors fancy, an allusion to the races so famous among the Greeks and Romans; for those sports were of a much later date than the time of David.

Psalms 19:5

5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
