Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.

Pausanias saith that in his time there was nought to be seen of it but the walls only; and Jerome saith a that in his it was turned into a park for deer. Omne in medio spatium solitude est.
