The Bene-Elam, who went with the first caravan, under Zerubbabel, to the number of 1,254, were followed by a second body of 71 men, with Ezra (Ezra 8:7) (see as to their zeal in the affair of the foreign marriages, Ezra 10:2; Ezra 10:26; and of the covenant-signing, Nehemiah 10:14).
