And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
No temple ... God ... the temple. As God now dwells in the spiritual Church, His "temple" х naos (G3485), shrine] (1 Corinthians 3:17; 1 Corinthians 6:19), so the Church perfected shall dwell in Him as her "temple" х naos (G3485)]. As the Church was "His sanctuary" (Psalms 114:2), so He is to be theirs. Means of grace cease when the end of grace is come. Church ordinances give place to the God of ordinances. Uninterrupted, immediate communion with Him and the Lamb (cf. John 4:23) supersedes intervening ordinances.
