Of whom the whole family— As Christ is the last person mentioned before the words, of whom, it seems reasonable to interpret this clause as referring to him; though others rather choose to understand it of the Father, who isthe principal subject of the foregoing sentence. The word heaven may be here taken in a great latitude, for all the regions of happinessof the invisible world. The Jewish writers call heaven, the upper, and earth, the lower family of God.
