In drought. — Literally, droughts, either with the force of intensity or as meaning “dry places.”

And make fat. — Better, shall strengthen, or make supple.

Like a watered garden. — Comp. Psalms 1:3; Isaiah 44:3-4; Jeremiah 31:12, in the last of which we have the self-same phrase.

11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought,e and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
